8/28/12 Don't Give Up

How do you know
what it is that she feels
the pain she describes
you think its not real?
Most will just sit there
and do nothing at all
but she's calling out
because she's scared to fall
she's lost all faith
she wants to give up
she doesn't feel worth it
she's not good enough
To love her is a trap
most fall right into
she'll drag you down with her
though she doesn't mean to
She just wants to feel
To be happy and free
but the demons that haunt her
won't let her, you see
She's tried to stay strong
but it seems every time
she falls to the ground
and crashes harder each time
Even you cannot save her
though you have tried
but the problem's much deeper
its all in her mind
She cant trust what she cannot see
and she can't trust herself
All she can do
is tell lies to herself
A little lie, a big lie
they all do the same
its always her fault
she's who she blames
She sees only ugly
inside and out
why would someone love her?
why let her mask down?
She's been through so much
or is that a lie too
she can't seem to sort
the lies from the truth
She wants to give up
to throw it all away
but every time she tries
you beg her to stay
She doesn't know why
you would even care about her
but she knows she loves you
and she needs you more then air
Yes, she seems like a lost cause
I mean.. she's fallen in so deep
but don't let her give up
Please, don't give up on me

Rise Again 11/22/11

 So, I was looking through all the 'drafts' in my emails and came across this poem-ish thing. I don't remember writing it, but it WaS over a year ago. Anyways, since I haven't posted anything in forever I figured I'd give you this.... It feels weird posting something thats not a song:P

For all those times you promised to change
For all those times you said you'd never leave
For all those times you had me fooled
For all those times I couldn't breathe

For all the fake acts of love
For all the pretending and games
For all the pain and sadness
For all the screaming and names

For all the moments I felt like nothing mattered
For all the moments I felt like dying
For all the moments I didn't know what to do
For all the hours I spent crying

It broke me apart
It killed me inside
It hurt to know
I couldn't hide

I had to face my fears
I had to stand tall
I had to remember
I had someone to break my fall

I want to thank you
For all those years of misery and pain
Because of your heartless mistakes
I learned to rise again

2/7/12 Better Then The Movies

V1) Fairytale, princess. Prince charming, a crown
Some mice and a pumpkin, Godmother a gown
A sprinkle of magic, a little pretend
But this make believe must come to an end

A dose of reality

This is not like the movies

V2) Evil stepmother. A dragon, a curse
A forbidden love, what could be worse?
Does good win over evil? Or is it pretend?
What about 'Happily ever after, the end'?

2/8/12 The Song Next Door

This one is a song based off of a story I kinda came up with while writing this song. I haven't actually written the story yet, but I'm going to :) Hope you like it! :D



V1) There is this house. The house next door
It looks so broken. It's been abandoned for sure
Shattered windows. There is glass all around
The place is a mess. Thorns spring up from the ground.

Chorus) But in the stillness of the night
A still small voice starts to soar
I know not where this beauty comes from
The beauty that is, the song next door

V2) That voice, by morning light, is gone
And takes with it that beautiful song
The people wonder, but they don't ask
Could that haunted house just be a mask?

That the house, should be torn down
The mysterious house covered with bramble
Was far to much for them to handle

The house was flattened to the ground
And a helpless child there was found
She began to sing again, just as before
When we took in as family the child that was the voice

First off, this one is a weird song because, it doesn't actually have a chorus. Just verses and a bridge. When I was trying to write the chorus...there just wasn't anything that needed to be added. The verses already told the story perfectly. So...yea:) Hope you like it! :D
